In this section you will find information on how to commission a portrait.

Before getting into the specifics though, here's a little clip on the stages a portrait goes thru before completion. Enjoy! :-)

PHOTO

In order to make a good portrait a good picture is necessary.

The picture will be the model which will pose thru the sessions and should present high resolution.

In order to select the pictures, I would personally suggest to go for those which more intimately represent the subject and therefore avoid anything which is not natural, i.e, a smile is not necessarily always the best choice.

The type of picture will determine the kind of portrait.

Some people opt for a half bodied portrait where the face and expression would be the main focus of the picture. In this case a half-bodied picture would be required. Nevertheless subject/s can be full-bodied portraited, in this case I would need a full-bodied picture.

The person portraited must not necessary hold eye contact with the camara.

As for the background, it's not necessarily relevant. It might be used or removed. That will depend on each request and how much expressivity it might add to the portrait.

In case of doubt on the photo, do not hesitate to ask me for advice if needed. Together we can very gladly decide which would be best.

TECHNIQUES

Acrylics&Oil painting are the usual tecniques that I use for my paintings. Other media such as pastels can be used too if suitable and as per request.

SIZE

When it comes to painting a portrait I can work with any of the standard european canvas formats. Mostly I resource to the "Figure" (F) type, as I find it very suitable for portrait purposes.

Below a table with measures both in centimeters and inches can be found for good reference in size.

Bear in mind that these are european standard measures hence the translation into inches as these references may vary outside of Europe.

Should you require a particular or specific format or size, do not hesitate to let me know.

TIME

Bearing in mind size requirements, the portraits will be ready in up to 20 working days.

PAYMENT&SHIPPING

As forms of payment I accept Paypal and bank transfer.

The final price depends on different factors such as the format and size and the media selected and will therefore calculated on a request per request basis. Shipment fees are included in the final price.

Please do not hesitate to contact me to ask for an estimated price.

On that note, once an agreement is reached, I do not ask for any advance payment. I believe that a sense of trust is important on both sides, both on the customer compromise and the quality of my work.

Once your portrait is ready and before it is shipped, I will send you a photo of my work.

At this time, you can comment and if needed, suggest changes.

If you find the portrait satisfactory after seeing the photo and, if applicable, making any changes, you would then deposit a payment by Paypal or bank transfer for the estimated price.

I will then ship your painting which you will receive in less than 10 days at a mailing address.

Hand delivery is also possible if applicable.
